2014 to the stage, please…

HNY

Well, it’s almost here. 2014, that is.

And you know what?

It can’t get here soon enough.

2013 has been a year of change.  It’s been a busy-as-hell year for me. I’ve moved house, twice, built a new house, had a stressful/shitty year at my EDJ, and released eight books.

2013 has also been a not-so-great year for a lot people I know.  There’s been separations, divorces, illnesses, deaths and funerals, financial troubles and stress.

But I’ve also seen some love, friendships and families made. I’ve had nominations and awards for my writing from fabulous readers. And I’ve witnessed the remarkable m/m community do some remarkable things, and really come together to support our own when in need.

And that’s what I’ll take with me, because after all, the good in people should win. Every time.

But this year, 2013, you can be done now, thanks.

I want to look forward, I want to make plans with and for my family, and I want to make 2014 the best year  yet.   Now, I don’t make New Year’s resolutions. I just don’t.

New-Years-resolution-for-2014

Resolutions, to me at least, are just an every day promise, made on a whim.  Everyone aims to be healthier, to get fitter, to save money blah blah blah. To me, those are just things we should all aim to do, on a daily basis. If you want to call them a resolution, then please by all means do. Call them what you want, and if you can stick to them, and see them out in full throughout the year, then kudos.  I mean that, genuinely, because I certainly can’t. Like I said this time last year, I’m too lazy for resolutions.

I just want 2014 to be… better.

That’s all. Just better.  I know that sounds very Gandhi of me, but it’s true. I want people to be happy, content, safe and in good health. Oh, and world peace. You know. Just because.

So, what’s in store for me in 2014?

Books.

LOL I already have five books scheduled for release in the first five months. (Clarity of Lines, Taxes and TARDIS, Three’s Company, Starting Point and my current WIP)  I know, right? I was supposed to reducing stress this year, but it’s just the way it happened.  It could be five books in the first six months – it depends on my WIP. Either way, I’ll be busy.  The second half of the year will be slower, and deliberately so.

So as we enter this new year, I want to say a huge thanks to everyone who’d bought, read and rated any of my books. It really means a lot to me, and I’ll continue to be humbled that anyone still reads my stuff, so a very big thank you to you all.  *mwah*

And let’s make 2014 the best year yet!
